About the Artist

Brooke Alter has a BFA in ceramics and a minor in art history. She has enjoyed creating and making art her entire life and from a young age she has always aspired to be an artist. She is always learning new mediums and techniques and is skilled in many different mediums of art. The art mediums she works in includes; drawing/ illustration, painting, digital art, fiber arts, resin, glass, screen printing, etching, copper electroforming, jewelry making, mixed media, and her main focus being in ceramics. Her artistic process in ceramics involves creating pieces through the technique of wheel throwing as well as slip casting and mold making to create unique slip casted pieces then altering the cast objects to create the finished piece, after which she at times will incorporate mixed media elements into her clay pieces as accents and additions. Her love for vintage, oddities, horror, and Halloween translates into her art and inspires Brooke to create art with a macabre style.
